Bid in a Timed Auction

At some auctions we sell equipment in an online Timed Auction, with no auctioneer. Bidding opens a few days before sales close and closes at staggered times during the auction. Every item is sold to the highest bidder when bidding closes.

Item overview

You will see an overview of the bidding on each item under All Lots, including when bidding closes and how much time is left, where the item is located and more item details. Additionally, you can add the item to your watchlist using the eyeball button.

Maximum Bid

You can place your bids using the Place bid button. Clicking the Place bid button opens a box where you can also view the bidding history, the current high bid and the bidder number of the high bidder. To place your maximum bid on the item, simply enter the maximum amount you are willing to bid on this item. Our system will automatically bid the lowest amount required to win for you. No need for you to monitor. The system will only raise your bid if someone outbids you. In the case of a tie, the first bid placed wins. If you are the current high bidder, you may return to the Place bid box to edit your maximum bid amount.

Quick Bid

You can place a quick bid by clicking the Place bid button. Clicking the Place bid button opens a box where you can also view the bidding history, the current high bid and the bidder number of the high bidder. As the box opens, it will display the next bid amount required to become the highest bidder. Simply click Place bid once more and your bid will be submitted. Toggling the - or + will edit your maximum bid amount (see above).

Time Extensions

When time is running out on an item, any new bids placed will cause additional time to be added to the closing time of the lot. This gives you an opportunity to react and place another bid before the lot is sold.

Tracking items you are bidding on or added to watchlist

When you click the watching eyeball icon, the item will be listed when you use the Watching filter. When you place a bid on an item, it is added under the Bidding filter. This is an easy way to find out if you're still the high bidder on an item or if something was sold to you. Note: make sure you set the filter to All Lots or Sold Lots if you're looking for an item that's been sold. Additionally, these two filters will only be visible if you are signed in and registered for that specific sale.

Bidding notifications

Receive email and/or text message notifications if you have been outbid or if an item was sold to you. To enable this, enter the Timed Auction for that event, and look for "Notifications" inside the main menu. Please note, you will not receive any notifications in the last five minutes before bidding closes on an item.

* In the currency of the auction
